The first day of school for the 2016-17 school year is Monday, August 15th.
Fifth-grade teacher Ed Aken and his student Will Jesske represented Cavett with extreme pride and confidence yesterday! Will’s letter – 1 out of 500 nominations – was chosen as 1 of 5 winners, and Mr. Aken was honored at a special breakfast at the Governor’s Mansion yesterday.
Be sure to watch and take pride in all our students and teachers, who do great work every day. Thank you, Will, and thank you Mr. Aken!
On Monday April 4th, Scott Middle School will host the parents of our incoming 5th grade students who will enter 6th grade this coming fall.
Families with last names beginning with the letters A through L should arrive at 6:00 PM and those with last names
beginning with the letters M through Z should arrive for the second session at 7:15 PM. Both sessions are identical. The split is for ease of parking and seating space in our multi-purpose room.
Thank you Cavett Community! After collections were sorted and bagged, 67 care packages were formed, along with many other miscellaneous items, to donate to the People’s City Mission . When the items were dropped off, the mission worker was speechless and had tears in his eyes. He couldn’t believe all of the items we were donating. He loved the care packages and had plans to distribute many that night. Together we made a difference.
