Student Serve Week

One of our mottos is Cavett Cares! We are so fortunate to be part of such a caring and giving community. Lincoln Public
Schools students have developed an opportunity for all of us to give back to the school community, it is called Student
Serve. Student Serve is a student-led, district-wide initiative committed to instilling civic responsibility and preserving
democratic ideology in students by promoting behaviors of good citizenship in their local, national, and global
communities. It is now Student Serve Week, from September 8th-12th.  All grade level teams will devote at least
one of their fitness breaks to give back to our community. What a wonderful way for our students to serve our community.

Here’s how some of our grade levels are participating in Student Serve Week at Cavett:

  • First graders: writing letters to soldiers in Mrs. Elsberry’s nephew’s Army troop.
  • Third graders: making cards for the residents at Clark Jeary. The cards will be delivered on Friday.
  • Fourth graders:  cleaning up the outdoor classroom.
  • Fifth Graders:  pulling weeds in the courtyard.
