The courtyard is an exciting place these days! Not only are the ducks back with their baby ducklings but we have a brand new tree! We had a beautiful and sentimental tree in the courtyard and were saddened when it was damaged with the heavy show we received this winter. The orignal tree had been donated by a student whose father passed away when he was a kindergartner. That student is now a third grader. His teacher and class decided to raise money to get a new tree. The caring students at Cavett raised a whopping $705. We are now the proud owners of a Chanticleer Pear Tree. This tree with have white flowers in the spring and red leaves rimmed with yellow in the fall. It will grow to be about 25 feet tall and 15 feet wide. The remaining money raised for the tree will be donated to keep the courtyard manicured and the pond running. On your next visit to Cavett, check out the new additions to our courtyard.
