Nebraka is now one of the leading farm states, and used to be part of the desert.

Nebraska has the nickname of the Cornhuskers. Nebraska is the 37 state.

  Koolaid was invented in Nebraska by Edwin Perkins.

Nebraskas state song is "Beautiful Nebraska".  The state tree is the cotonwood. Nebraska is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. In 1867 Nebraska became  the 37  state.  The arbor day holiday was started in Nebraska. 

Chuck Hagel, and Ben Nelson are Nebraskas senitors.  Jeff Fortenberry, Lee Terry and Adrin smith are Nebraskas representatives.  The governor is Dave Hienaman.  The state flower is the goldenrod.

 

The state bird is the Medowlark. 

The state fossil is the mammoth. 

The state gemstone is the Blue agate.  The state animal is the white tailed deer.

the state dance is the square dance. The state insect is the honey bee.

The state fish is the channel Catfish.  Right now, Paramona Point is the highest point.

The population is 1,711,263 when it was counted in 2000. Nebraska is found in Tornado Alley so, thunder storms are common in the summer.

Nebraska has 5 colleges, 16 private colleges and, 3 collage systems. When ice age glaciers came in the eastern part they left rolling hills.
